On July 1, negotiations were held in Kyiv between Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Pedro Sanchez. During a press conference, the president said that Ukraine would be ready to start a diplomatic settlement of the war after the last occupier leaves the last piece of Ukrainian territory, which has been internationally recognised as Ukrainian since 1991. That is, including the Donetsk/Luhansk regions and the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, which the Russians consider their own. The main condition for the beginning of talks:
"...are we ready for a diplomatic settlement, and for what kind of diplomatic settlement — if we are at the borders before February 24. These are not our borders that were on February 24 — there was a contact line between us and the occupiers," Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Putin will not participate in these negotiations. We remind you that in Ukraine, the statement is enshrined in law: no negotiations with Russia while Putin holds the post of president of the country.
