In January 2021, Ukraine announced the creation of a company specializing in air transportation — Bees Airline. The new airline is located in the capital of Ukraine, Kyiv, based on Zhulyany airport and in the west of Ukraine, in Lviv. The launch of the low-budget airline took a little more than six months. The Bees Airline fleet includes Boeing 737-800 planes.
The first flights took place to Egypt and went to work as a charter carrier. At the end of the year, the airline became involved not only in occasional services but also in domestic passenger services. The first test flights were launched from the capital to Lviv. Later, flights to Barcelona were opened from Lviv, and on New Year’s Eve, they started to provide occasional transport services to the capital of Georgia. Ukrainian aircraft fly to Georgia twice a week.
Bees Airline operates three passenger fares:
- Light — is the cheapest variant of a flight, which provides only space onboard an airplane with hand baggage. Tickets cannot be returned or changed;
- Smart — rate for baggage weighing up to 23 kg, change of departure date is possible when paying a fine of €50 and difference between tariffs;
- Flex — the rate that allows you to take hand baggage and baggage weighing up to 23 kg will change the departure date calmly. Flex also provides a refund fee of €50.
In addition to passenger flights, Bees Airline specializes in cargo transportation. In November, the company organized the first shipment of goods to the following directions:
- Kyiv – Tbilisi;
- Kyiv – Yerevan;
- Kyiv – Sharjah.
The company delivers special and general cargo — diplomatic mail, perishable products, and animals. In 2022, the airline plans to increase the number of aircraft to open new routes.
