New Gipsies?

Became known how many children Russia kidnapped from Ukraine and gave for adoption

In post-Soviet countries, the theft of children by people of Roma nationality is common. Most often, Roma steals or buys children from disadvantaged families. But there are also abductions of children from prosperous families. It seems that Russia may soon claim the title of creator of the gipsies.

The Ministry for the reintegration of the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine has been informed that more than several thousand children have been abducted since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine. Children of different gender and age are taken to the territory of the Russian Federation without guardians and parents. The number of abducted children is increasing every day. According to the Ministry, a daily hotline handles new appeals of people who report the facts of the illegal removal of children to Russia.

In addition to the fact that in today's world, this seems wild, international conventions recognize deportation as a war crime.

What's more, it's childhood trauma and most likely a miserable life away from your parents. That is why the Ukrainian side is doing its best to return the abducted children. It is reported that 55 victims have been returned.

"The Ministry of reintegration is making considerable efforts to bring the small deported Ukrainians home. With the assistance of the Ministry, 55 children have already been returned, 31 of them — directly from Russia," wrote the Ministry for the reintegration of temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.

At the same time, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, permanent representative of the United States to the United Nations, states that there are still many deported children to return home. The politician also says that the forced removal of Ukrainian children is controlled by officials of the Putin administration.
