On July 22, 2014, the European Council sent an advisory mission to Ukraine in the field of security, police, judiciary, prosecutors, anti-corruption and human rights. The start of the European mission in Ukraine was given impetus by the Revolution of Dignity because, at that time, the Ukrainians demonstrated their readiness to die for the European future for their children.
Today, the head of EUAM Ukraine is Antti Juhani Hartikainen. On May 16, the Council of Europe published a statement on the appointment of a new leader on June 1, 2023, for 1 year. Rolf M Hay Pereira Holmboe is the current Danish ambassador to Mali and has previously accompanied diplomatic missions in Pakistan, Lebanon and Syria.
