New Liberalization as a Driving Force for Business Development

The economy has been overhauled in the last few years, assuring foreign investments

Ukraine is ranked 64 among 190 economies in the ease of doing business. The country's Ease of Doing Business rank has dramatically improved since 2014.

1. A pro-business government with the vision to improve the country's investments climate has been in power for three consecutive years. For example, Ukraine has started introducing electronic auctions for public procurement, which effectively reduces corruption risks and stimulates investments. The economy has been overhauled in the last few years, assuring foreign investments.

2. There is an established business environment for setting up a business, registering property, and making investments in Ukraine, with a 100% online system of administrative services for obtaining licenses and permits from the State Agency of e-Governance. For example, more than 90% of taxes are paid either online or through banks. The threshold for business entry is relatively low at $160.

3. There are plenty of investments opportunities, especially in the fields of information technology, financial services & banking, telecommunications & media, healthcare & biotech, agribusiness and food processing, transportation (automotive industry), consumer goods (electronics), real estate development (housing construction) and fashion, among others. For example, investments in the IT sector grew by 26% in 2016.
