Witold Waszczykowski, head of the European Parliament delegation, in his speech, focused on the need for NATO military assistance, as well as closing the sky over Ukraine.
"We should start thinking about lobbying the NATO military mission to create humanitarian corridors and create a no-fly zone, at least in limited areas," said Witold Waszczykowski, head of the European Parliament's delegation to the EU-Ukraine Association committee.
According to Waszczykowski, it is in the interests of the European Parliament to lobby for the idea of supplying more military equipment and weapons to Ukraine to help Ukraine. A stronger defense capability was also cited as necessary for NATO's eastern flank.
Recall that on March 26, Polish prime minister Mateusz Morawiecki said that other NATO member countries support the idea of a peacekeeping mission in Ukraine, while they also expect joint approval from the Alliance.
“We already know from the media over the previous few days that there have been positive reactions from Denmark and Lithuania. Today I can say that other member states have expressed their approval, but they also expect some support and a universal voice from NATO. We also note that this should be a targeted NATO mission”, the head of the Polish government in Brussels at a press conference after a meeting of the Council of Europe.
