On October 12, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe ratified a resolution that calls the Holodomor the Russian policy of genocide of the Ukrainian people. PACE drew a parallel between the Moscow acts of genocide against Ukrainians in 1932-33 and now: the methods that Russia uses today in the war against our country are “tragic reminder of the previous attempt to destroy the Ukrainian nation.”
“In light of these considerations, the Assembly decides to recognise the Holodomor as an act of genocide aimed at destroying the foundations of the Ukrainian nation, language and culture, and honours the memory of its victims,” the resolution says.
We remind you that on April 27, 2023, PACE recognised the forced deportation of Ukrainian children to Russia/Belarus as genocide, and on October 13, the association voted to recognise Putin as a dictator.
