Today, the presidents of Slovakia and Czechia arrived in Kyiv. Caputova and Pavel visited Bucha and saw mass graves, destroyed houses, visited the memorial to Ukrainians tortured by the Russian occupation.
"For too long, we have hoped that Putin's Russia is different. That it's better. This lesson has shown that it is not. And we have to be ready," Petr Pavel wrote on Twitter under the impression of what he saw in Bucha.
"We came to Bucha by the same route as the Russian transporters came about a year ago. Memories of the barbaric slaughter of civilians remain a memento. Ukrainians will never forget the hundreds of needlessly lost lives. We must not forget either," Petr Pavel.
The president is right — Ukrainians will never forget. And, most likely, never forgive.
