Preliminary Results of the Istanbul Grain Talks

On July 13, a quadripartite meeting was held in Istanbul to solve the problem of the blockade of the Black sea and the export of grain from Ukraine

Today there was a meeting of representatives of 4 parties: Ukraine-UN-Turkey and Russia. The task of the delegation was to make every effort to reach agreements on the safe export of grain.

Andrii Yermak, head of the office of the president of Ukraine, shared the details and results of the negotiations.

"Ukraine proposed to form a basic algorithm for the operation of navigation in the Black sea. This will ensure the export of Ukrainian grain and ensure food security for millions of people around the world", Andrii Yermak.

According to Yermak, a joint coordination center will be created under the auspices of the UN, which will regulate the safe logistics of ships in the Black sea. UN Secretary-General António Guterres called the results of the meeting "critically" progressive. Minister of foreign affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba said that Ukraine will not export its agricultural products without clear and official security guarantees for shipowners, cargo owners and Ukraine.
