Military representatives from more than 50 countries gathered in Germany at the US air force base Ramstein. The international council discussed military assistance, including for the long term.
US secretary of defence Lloyd Austin and chief of the joint chiefs of staff Mark Millie said that the countries are ready to continue supporting Ukraine and will provide it with the necessary weapons. The allies are ready to provide weapons not only during the war but also after its end to create a better defence of the country. Head of the British Ministry of defence Ben Wallace said that the Ukrainian military will receive from the United Kingdom 120 vehicles for transportation of special equipment. The new platforms will be able to quickly transport military equipment, such as the Stormer systems, to long distances. The US also announced a $675 million military package. It will include:
- Ammunition for HIMARS;
- 36.000 shells for 105 mm artillery;
- High-speed anti-radar missiles (HARM);
- More than 5.000 anti-tank systems and others.
The Ministry of defence of Norway announced the transfer of 160 anti-tank Hellfire missiles to the Ukrainian side.
"This is the weapon that Ukraine asked for, and it will be useful in the fight against the Russian troops. The missile is easy to operate, it can be used for both ground and sea targets," said Norwegian minister of defence Bjorn Arild Gramm.
It was also reported that NATO plans to organize training based on NSPA standards for the Ukrainian defence procurement agency.
