In response to the Russian terrorist act against Ukrainians, the blowing up of the Kakhovskaya HPP, the IAEA team led by Raphael Grossi arrived in Ukraine. We already know that the Kakhovka reservoir (which Ukrainians affectionately called the Kakhov sea) served the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant. The draining of the Kakhov sea endangered our country and Europe's nuclear security and once again demonstrated Russia's terrorist nature.
President Zelenkyy thanked Grossi for coming to strengthen the security of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant and discussed methods by which the largest nuclear power plant in Europe can be protected from an explosion. The president approved the decision of the IAEA team to go to Kherson and investigate the destroyed Kakhovka HPP.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasised that the Russian move against Kakhovskaya HPP is an act of ecocide, and only absolute demilitarisation from the Russians, deoccupation and restoration of Ukrainian control can stop Russia from repeating this scenario at the ZNPP. In response to the explosion of the Kakhovka dam, Ukraine opened a case of ecocide against Russia.
