Ratification of “The Treaty on Open Skies”

On February 17, parliament approved an agreement aimed at creating conditions in Ukraine for air travel similar to those of the European Union

The treaty on open skies creates a single register of technical standards, operational requirements, procedures, and air safety, consumer protection, and technology. All rules are common and identical for all parties to the agreement.

"It is expected that this agreement will increase competition in the air transportation market, reduce ticket prices and improve the quality of passenger service," said Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze, chair of Ukraine's EU integration committee.

We remind you that The treaty on open skies was signed on October 12, 2021, during the 23rd Ukraine-EU Summit. The signing ceremony was attended by Volodymyr Zelenskyy — president of Ukraine, Ursula von der Leyen — president of the European Commission, Charles Michel — president of the European Council.
