French minister of transport Clement Bon said that the government of Ukraine is "working hard" to restore safe skies for civilian flights. Today, Ukrainian pilots and air traffic controllers are trained on French simulators since even a partial restoration of the functionality of the sky during the war is a challenge for any specialist.
"This is actually an essential thing. The moment when civil aviation flights over Ukraine are restored, I hope, will come as soon as possible. And if the aviators do not have practice, then according to safety rules, they will not have the right to resume work immediately. Therefore, we are helping Ukraine to prepare for the moment when your airspace will be open, in whole or in part," Clement Bon
Today, the main factor for restarting air traffic is precisely the safety of passengers and staff. And according to the minister, Kyiv already has some plans regarding this item.
We remind you that on February 25, 2022, on the day of Russia's full-scale attack on our country, both civil and commercial aircraft stopped flying in Ukraine. To fly abroad, Ukrainians go to Poland, Romania, Hungary or Moldova and use the airports of these countries.
