On June 23, representatives of the transport departments of Ukraine and Moldova signed a memorandum on the restoration of railway communication along the route, which was stopped 25 years ago. Already this autumn, the first train will go on the route Berezine (Ukraine) — Basarabeasca (Moldova).
"Thus, the Republic of Moldova will be able to export/import goods through the port of Izmail, located on the Danube, reducing traffic jams in the port of Reni. At the same time, Ukraine will be able to export goods to the Republic of Moldova and EU countries through this section of the railway," minister of infrastructure of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov.
The Ministry of infrastructure and deputy prime minister of Moldova Andrei Spinu said that 1.2 km of the road will be built on the territory of Moldova, at a distance. At the same time, it is known that the Ukrainian section of the Berezino-Bassarabeasca route was built back in 1997.
