In the interests of the club, Roman Abramovich decided to sell Chelsea and transfer the money to a charitable foundation. According to Bloomberg, the deal is worth £4 billion.
"Moreover, I instructed the team to create a charitable foundation, where all the net proceeds from the sale will be transferred. The fund's money will go to the benefit of all those affected by the war in Ukraine. This includes providing critical funds for the immediate and urgent needs of the victims, as well as supporting long-term recovery efforts," Roman Abramovich.
The businessman also said that the club was for him a passion for the game and never about money. Therefore, the sale will not be carried out quickly, in accordance with due process, without requiring the repayment of any loans.
