On April 12, the Security Service of Ukraine caught Viktor Medvedchuk, an opposition leader and citizen of Ukraine, who is charged with high treason. There are numerous facts that Medvedchuk has been passing secret information about Ukraine to Russia for years and helping to implement Russian scenarios in our country. During the detention, Medvedchuk was wearing the uniform of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Volodymyr Zelenskyy commented on this maneuver.
"Well, as Medvedchuk himself chose a military uniform, he falls under wartime rules. I propose in the Russian Federation to exchange this guy of yours for our guys and girls in Russian captivity. Therefore, it is important that our law enforcement agencies and the military also consider this possibility," Zelenskyy said.
Representatives of the Russian government managed to comment on Medvedchuk's arrest and even come up with absurd details of his detention and Ukraine's plans. Particularly distinguished was Dmitry Medvedev, whose only role in Russia is to sleep in the stands and fill in Putin as president while changing the law in his favor.
"Some freaks who call themselves the "Ukrainian authorities" report that they want to "extract evidence" from Viktor Medvedchuk, then "quickly and fairly condemn him", and then exchange him for prisoners. These figures should look around and firmly lock the doors at night so as not to be among the exchanged persons themselves," Medvedev.
Dmitry Peskov, Vladimir Putin's press secretary, proved that the Russians do not abandon their own.
"As for the exchange, which was discussed in Kyiv, Medvedchuk is not a citizen of the Russian Federation and has nothing to do with the operation. We do not know if he himself wants the participation of the Russian Federation in resolving this situation," Dmitry Sergeevich commented.
Peskov also added that their all-seeing eye will watch the fate of Medvedchuk.
Vladimir Putin, who is the godfather of Medvedchuk's daughter, has not yet commented on the arrest of his relative and, perhaps, is not interested in his future fate.
