The Ministry of foreign affairs welcomes the decision of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and Australia to apply to IKAO in accordance with the provisions of the Chicago Convention in order to bring Russia to justice for its participation in the downing in July 2014 of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17.
Earlier, Australia and the Netherlands jointly called on Russia to take responsibility for its role in the downing of flight MH17, in accordance with international law.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine will continue to work to bring Russia to justice using all available international legal mechanisms. The downing of MH17 is one of the lawsuits filed by the UN International Court of Justice in Ukraine in 2017. We hope that the case will be considered soon.
