On June 10, the website of the government of Ukraine published information on the approval of the bill on customs clearance of cars through Diia — the state digital service (portal and application) of public services developed by the Ministry of digital transformation.
"Everything is as simple and convenient as possible. It is enough to enter the VIN code of the vehicle, and the calculation of payments is automatic. You can pay directly in the application. The whole process of customs clearance takes no longer than 5 minutes," said the prime minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.
The adoption of the law is a step towards the new green course of Ukraine, as well as anti-corruption progress and digitalization of Ukraine. Free customs clearance of electric cars will help because Ukrainians will be more interested in buying electric cars. We remind you that over the last year, Ukrainians have bought 63% more electric cars.
"Also, our bill contains rules that provide for full exemption from taxation of cars with electric motors and a lower rate for cars with hybrid motors. Within the framework of the Ukrainian Green Course, it is a concern for both our environment and cleaner air," the head of government noted.
After the adoption of the bill by the Verkhovna Rada (parliament) of Ukraine, all corruption schemes and bribery will be permanently eliminated from the process of purchasing and customs clearance of cars. From now on, customs officers will not be involved in customs clearance and registration of Ukrainian cars, and the customs clearance formula will be formed according to the car's characteristics: volume, type, and power of the engine, condition, and exclusivity.
"The new service has virtually no analogues in the world and demonstrates the desire of the state to do everything as convenient and transparent for people."
