In the second quarter of 2021, the economic recovery, although still influenced by the pandemic, has emerged on a positive trend, given the low comparison base of last year and the vaccination processes both globally and domestically.
"Going forward, we expect construction and agriculture to make up for the lag during the summer months. The price environment in foreign commodity markets, which will be a key support for the activity of domestic exporters, will also contribute to the acceleration of growth. As a consequence, GDP growth will reach the forecasted level of 4,1% by the end of 2021," the Ministry of economy said.
The drop in GDP for the 1st quarter of 2021, according to preliminary data from the State Statistics Committee, was 2,2% compared to the corresponding quarter of 2020.
