SkyUp Airlines: Top Countries for Flight Operations in 2023

In 2023, Ukrainian airline SkyUp successfully operated 10,500 flights across 53 countries, transporting 1.5 million passengers despite Ukraine’s airspace closure

Through ACMI lease agreements, SkyUp collaborated with various global airlines, including Tunisair, FlyOne, HiSky SRL, HiSky Europe SRL, Wizz Air Malta, Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, Corendon Dutch, Tailwind Airlines, and FlyEgypt

Remarkably, SkyUp's presence was predominantly noted in five countries,

with Moldova topping the list with 2,000 flights,

followed by Egypt with 1,685 flights,

Turkey with 1,219 flights,

Tunisia with 675 flights,

and Romania with 556 flights.

This strategic maneuver allowed SkyUp, along with other Ukrainian airlines like Roza Vitriv and the now-bankrupt UIA, to maintain operations by creating a hub at Chisinau airport in Moldova, demonstrating resilience and adaptability in the face of airspace restrictions.
