The Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant is set to host a new solar power plant on its industrial site, designed to generate approximately 2 MW of electricity. This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to repurpose the area for sustainable energy production.
The specialized enterprise "Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant" has confirmed the receipt of essential components for the solar power plant, which have been provided as part of international humanitarian aid. These components include SG110CX grid inverters with a capacity of 110 kVA and SPR-6PB(-HV) solar panels, each with a power output of 275 W.
The solar power plant, once operational, will supply electricity to meet the needs of the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant itself. This project represents a significant step towards transforming the Chernobyl site into a hub for renewable energy while utilizing the existing infrastructure.
Technical documentation for the solar power plant, covering technical solutions, specifications, and design requirements, is currently being reviewed as preparations for construction advance.
