The Office of the President of South Korea announced on Wednesday that it will initiate negotiations with Ukraine this week regarding the visit of a Ukrainian special representative to Seoul.
According to Yonhap News Agency, a high-ranking official from South Korea's presidential office stated:
"The Ukrainian side will need a day or two to appoint a special representative and finalize the plan for his visit and negotiations here."
Intelligence Assessments on North Korean Troops
The official also shared intelligence estimates from South Korea and its allies, indicating that at least 11,000 North Korean troops have been deployed to Russia. Some of these forces are reportedly stationed in Russia's western region near the border with Ukraine.
High-Level Discussions Between Leaders
In a recent telephone conversation, South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed the alleged involvement of North Korean military personnel by Russia. The two leaders agreed to exchange delegations soon to coordinate actions and enhance cooperation.
