Special Center of NATO and Romania Will Train Ukrainian Paramedics

Euro-Atlantic Disaster Response Coordination Center and Romania signed an agreement on additional training of emergency doctors in Ukraine

On October 24, an agreement was signed between EADRCC (represented by the head of the centre Tim Lannan) and Romania (represented by Raed Arafat, minister of the interior of Romania) to improve the paramedical education of Ukrainian emergency doctors. The training of Ukrainian doctors will strengthen the medical care provided to Ukrainians in the face of war, the impending winter and COVID-19.

Funding will come from the Romanian budget, as well as through NATO's Pandemic Response Trust Fund.

PRTF was created this year to respond quickly to the pandemic. With the beginning of the war in Ukraine, the fund expanded its tasks to supply medical supplies and equipment, humanitarian aid and educational support — practical training for paramedics. These measures will strengthen the resilience of Ukraine's healthcare system.

We remind you that the World Bank also launched courses for paramedics from Ukraine in cooperation with the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.
