Starch Exports From Ukraine Increased

In October 2021, Ukrainian enterprises exported 4.7 thousand tons of corn starch, which is 61% higher than September shipments and 150% higher than in October 2020/2021 marketing year

It is noted that since the beginning of the season, exports amount to 7.5 thousand tons. This is 69% higher compared to the same period last year. 

According to Ukragroconsult experts, the leader in terms of purchases of Ukrainian starch is China, whose share is 32%, and imports are 27 times higher than last year. 

EU countries also increased their Ukrainian starch imports + 90%, Malaysia, 2.5 times, and Taiwan, 3.3 times. The exception is Indonesia, which reduced its purchases of starch from Ukraine by 11% compared to September-October 2020. In addition, Nigeria and Thailand in September-October last season did not buy starch in Ukraine, but this season has already imported a total of 1.34 thousand tons.

Also, in the 2021/2022 marketing year Ukraine will increase the production of sunflower and soybean meal by 20% and 3%, respectively.
