“Starlink” Will Give Ukrainians Internet in Public Places

Poland will hand over 1.500 terminals to Ukraine to create a permanent internet access point

Forbes reported that public Wi-Fi points will be created in Ukraine with Tesla Powerwall and Starlink terminals. The publication refers to the words of the minister of digital transformation Mykhailo Fedorov. Such a program will be implemented as soon as possible so that Ukrainians in the liberated territories have an opportunity to communicate with their relatives to be aware of the events while the permanent connection is restored. In addition, the creation of zones where all willing users can use an internet connection that is not required during emergency power off.

So first, test cells are already being prepared in the ministry of digital transformation of Ukraine. They should start working in November. Starlink terminals will be used for constant communication and receiving of operative information all over Ukraine after checking the system.

Poland will help to cover the needs of the terminals. The neighbouring country plans to transfer almost a part of the necessary equipment — 1.500 terminals.

"We want to provide the country with reinforced concrete places for the world to be able to meet in any situation. Including consideration of the use of Tesla Powerwall, Starlink, so that such points of public connection were in Ukraine and worked independently from the power network operation," Mykhailo Fedorov confirmed in the article.
