The Ukraine-EU summit begins today in Kyiv. On February 2, Ursula von der Leyen, Josep Borrell and 15 European deputies arrived in Kyiv for preliminary talks. Ukraine has prepared a plan for joining the EU for 2 years and expects to receive a map from the EU regarding the actions of the state on the path of European integration.
What Ukraine wants: customs-free and visa-free access for Ukrainian goods to the EU market, access to common European roaming, membership in SEPA.
"Our relationship with Ukraine is a priority for us. Hosting this summit in Kyiv sends a very clear signal. It is a signal primarily addressed to Ukrainians as a sign of support with our personal presence," a European official and one of the summit organisers.
