State-Owned Farmland Auctions Smash Demand Records

Vinnytsia tops the leaderboard as Ukraine’s transparent “land bank” model draws fierce bidding from farms of every size

Ukraine’s online Land Bank auctions are booming:

  • 529 sub-lease deals signed since launch

  • 39,000 ha of state farmland awarded for cultivation

  • ₴848 million in total lease payments already secured

Demand at a glance

Region (Top-5) Avg. bids per lot
Vinnytsia 21.6
Cherkasy 15.0
Ivano-Frankivsk 12.6
Kirovohrad / Chernihiv 11.0
Volyn 10.5

Who’s winning?

  • Solo farmers (1 employee) – 2.4 %

  • Micro-enterprises (≤5 employees) – 44.9 %

  • SMEs (≤200 employees) – 39.5 %

  • Large agri-holdings (>200 employees) – 13.2 %

Why it matters:
Open e-auctions level the playing field—highest bid wins, no back-room deals. “Demand, competition, fair price and equal access: that’s how the state-land sub-lease market now works in Ukraine,” Agriculture Minister Vitalii Koval said, promising more lots and opportunities ahead.
