Today, Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Jens Stoltenberg discussed the situation on the battlefield and Ukraine's preparation for NATO membership. The president stated that Ukraine is a de facto member of the Alliance, and de jure membership is a matter of time.
"Ukraine is already defending the common space of freedom that unites all NATO members, and Ukraine's victory in this unprovoked and criminal war opened by Russia is guaranteed to ensure long-term security and peace, not only for our state but for the entire continent," Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
"Reality itself is proof that Ukraine's membership in the Alliance will be absolutely natural and strengthen both Ukraine and NATO."
On behalf of the Ukrainians, the president thanked Stoltenberg and Ukraine's international allies for creating coalitions to help Ukraine win: the military coalition, the aviation coalition, the educational coalition, intelligence, cybersecurity, joint procurement of missiles and so on.
"I'm sure we can continue to put pressure on the aggressor so that Russia only retreats and loses," Zelenskyy.
