Energy Security and Climate Partnership
The climate crisis has reached a critical level that requires immediate action, which we are resorting to. Ukraine and the United States contribute to enhancing Ukraine's energy security through sustainable, effective, and durable solutions supported by ongoing corporate governance reform.
- Strategic energy and climate dialogue: Ukraine and the United States intend to enhance cooperation on shared energy and climate goals by improving the strategic energy and climate dialogue;
- Attracting investments in the energy sector through reforms;
- Reducing greenhouse gas emissions and driving innovation: Ukraine and the United States have reaffirmed their commitment to achieving ambitious reductions in their national greenhouse gas emissions by 2030.
Pandemic response and financial assistance
The draft US budget for 2022 provides for a total amount of $756 million in aid to Ukraine.
The minister added that through the US State Department, the Pentagon, and the US Agency for international development, the US side allocated more than $460 million to support key reforms in Ukraine.
Thanks to US assistance, Ukrainians received about 2.2 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines.
This year, thanks to the agreements between Ukraine and the United States presidents, an additional $60 million US security assistance package was attracted.
Trade turnover between Ukraine and the USA
In four years, the total trade between the United States and Ukraine increased by 21% ($707.55 million) and amounted to $4.05 billion in 2020.
The most exported production: fats and oils — $56.86 million, milk and dairy products; poultry eggs; natural honey — $15.06 million, processed products of vegetables, fruits or other parts of plants — $14.17 million. 70.02 million, various food products — $22.58 million.
