Sweden Allocates €2.4 Million to Ukraine for “Smereka” Case Management System

Funding aims to enhance the investigation of Russian war crimes by modernizing Ukraine’s digital infrastructure

Sweden will provide Ukraine with €2.4 million to support the investigation of Russian war crimes through the implementation of an electronic case management system called "Smereka". The funding was announced by the European Union Advisory Mission in Ukraine (EUAM Ukraine).

Enhancement of Digital Infrastructure

The "Smereka" system is designed to optimize the work of Ukrainian law enforcement agencies and the prosecutor's office, particularly in handling complex international criminal cases. The project involves modernizing the digital systems of key institutions, including:

  • Office of the Prosecutor General
  • Security Service of Ukraine (SBU)
  • National Police of Ukraine

By improving data storage and case management processes, the initiative aims to expedite the process of bringing perpetrators to justice.

EUAM Ukraine's Commitment

EUAM Ukraine emphasized its dedication to strengthening Ukraine's justice system and highlighted the support of international partners in upholding justice and the rule of law.
