Sweden to Donate 50.000 Pfizer/BioNTech Vaccines to Ukraine

Ukraine is one of the first countries in the world to receive a vaccine developed to counteract "Omicron"

On September 13, the Ministry of health of Ukraine announced its request to the Swedish government. The subject of the proposal was to provide Ukraine with a vaccine against a mutated strain of COVID. Sweden responded positively to the request, and shortly, Ukraine will receive more than half a million doses of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine. Thus, just at the height of a new wave of the COVID pandemic in Ukraine, our state will receive a vaccine adapted specifically for Omicron.

According to the Swedish Ministry of foreign affairs, Ukraine is one of the first countries in the world to receive this vaccine. Delivery dates are not yet known.

We remind you that for the first time, Omicron was registered in the Chernivtsi region. It is worth noting that the first case of COVID in Ukraine was also registered in the Chernivtsi region on March 2, 2020.
