On August 16, the mayor of Bucha, Anatoly Fedoruk, and the ambassador of Taiwan to Poland, Sharon S.N. Yiwu, signed an agreement on helping Ukraine during the war. As part of the agreement, Taiwan will provide Ukraine with $492 million in assistance to restore a youth sports school and another $109 million to build a ground-based bomb shelter in a city park.
"International cooperation is dominated not only by security issues but also by issues of the future, namely our children," Anatoly Fedoruk.
According to the mayor, the Russian war has destroyed/damaged more than 18.000 objects in Bucha, 16.000 of which are residential multi-storey and private houses. Out of 18.000, thanks to international investors, Ukrainian philanthropists and the country's government, 7.000 were restored.
