On Thursday, the first telephone conversation between the president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the prime minister of Israel, Yair Lapid. The topic of the discussion was sanctions that must be implemented against Russian aggression.
"I've held the first telephone conversation with the new prime minister of Israel, Yair Lapid. I count on his country's accession to the sanctions on Russia and provision of practical assistance to Ukraine in countering the aggression of the Russian Federation," Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
It is known that Ukraine has repeatedly appealed to Israel with a request to provide iron dome/weapons and to join the sanctions against Russia. According to Yevhen Korniychuk, the former ambassador of Ukraine to Israel, Israel takes an incomprehensible position toward Russia and does not meet Ukraine's expectations. At the same time, Israel's ambassador to Ukraine, Michael Brodsky, said that Israel has been on Ukraine's side since the first days of the war and provides unlimited assistance.
