On February 24, Russia launched a full-scale war against Ukraine. The Kremlin's plans were to capture Kyiv in 3 days. Obviously, Putin allocated these 3 days to destroy Ukrainian cities and towns on the way to Kyiv. One of them was Irpin. The town is named after the river of the same name, over which a massive automobile-pedestrian bridge was built.
Photos of this bridge, destroyed by Russian bombs, and hundreds of people who were hiding under this bridge from death probably flew around the whole world. People with their children and pets fled from the war over the ruins of the bridge, through the icy water. March 2022.
September 2023. Ukraine restored the bridge across the Irpin river. Glory to Ukraine.
