The EU Will Fund the Upgrade of Ukrainian Roads and Border Infrastructure

The European Commission, Poland, Romania, Hungary, and Slovakia allocate over €200 mln for the implementation of 6 projects in Ukraine

The launch of a joint project to modernise Ukraine's border infrastructure. This project aims to increase commercial logistics between Ukraine and the EU, increasing throughput and developing exports. As part of the Connecting Europe Facility, 6 projects were selected to be paid 50/50: 50% by the European Commission and 50% by 5 countries participating in the project.

What measures will be taken: repair and renovation of road and railway checkpoints, border infrastructure, purchase of new specialised equipment for customs and border control points:

  • Yagodin — Dorogusk;
  • Krakowets — Korchova;
  • Mostiska II — Medica;
  • Porubnoe — Siret;
  • Vadul-Siret — Dorneshti;
  • Beregshuran — Luzhanka;
  • Zahony — Chop.

According to the deputy minister for developing communities, territories and infrastructure Serhiy Derkach, the cost of these projects is over €200 million.

We remind you that the Ministry of infrastructure of Ukraine and EU commissioner for transport Adina Velyan has signed an agreement to include Ukraine in the Connection of Europe program.
