The First 70 Ukrainians Learn to Work With “Patriot”

A group of Ukrainian artillerymen arrived in Germany for training in working with the American anti-aircraft missile system

According to SPIEGEL, at the end of January, 70 representatives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine arrived in Germany to be trained to work with the Patriot air defence system. The training was supposed to start on February 2.

In cooperation with the United States, Germany plans to create a full-fledged Patriot system to protect Ukraine and its people from Russian artillery and drone attacks. The Patriot system comes standard with a fire control centre, radar, a power generator and from 6 launchers, which are separately located on trucks.

In turn, the Operational Command of Poland reported that the Patriots located on its territory are in "initial operational readiness." Germany intends to maintain the air security of Poland with the help of 3 anti-aircraft missile squadrons.
