The First Airport Finally Opens in Ukraine

Air traffic in Ukraine was completely stopped due to the full-scale war

The head of the office of the president of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, confirmed the information that was joyfully passed on from word of mouth: the first airport is finally being opened in Ukraine. Due to the full-scale Russian invasion of February 24, 2022, the sky over Ukraine was completely closed to civil aviation. Trains and cars became the main method of movement around the country and abroad. The public put pressure on the state leadership and set Israel as an example: in the conditions of constant war danger, the leadership of this state was still able to create conditions for safe and continuous air travel.

Yermak said that 1 airport in the west of Ukraine will be launched before the end of the war. Probably, it will be the airport in Lviv. Thus, the trip to Ukraine will now take an hour instead of a day.

We remind you that the CEO of Ryanair stated that the company is fully ready to resume air connections with Ukraine as soon as it opens the airports.
