Cabinet gas control equipment made in Ukraine by RGC Production is being tested on new energy — a hydrogen gas mixture with a hydrogen content of up to 20%. Testing will continue at hydrogen landfills in Zhytomyr, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Volyn, and Ivano-Frankivsk regions. To comply with European standards, Xi cabinets, gas distribution systems are equipped with H2-ready regulators and a certificate for working with 20% hydrogen.
The testing process will be supervised by Bureau Veritas, a well-known investment and certification company for quality control of processes and products.
"The current agenda in European energy is to prepare national energy systems for new, "green" clean energy. We are talking primarily about hydrogen, which is the most promising energy source. Preparing gas distribution systems for new types of energy is a strategy, not a short-term solution. Since the beginning of the year, RGK has been systematically preparing landfills and our specialists for testing new types of energy. So today's experiment is part of a comprehensive test program," said RGC director Oleh Nikonorov.
What exactly will be tested in this experimental period:
- Check of safety shut-off valves;
- External tightness check;
- Internal tightness check;
- Check the pressure drop on the gas filter.
The experimental data will provide information on the readiness of new equipment to work with green energy.
