On April 22, Lloyd Austin announced that his government would expedite the delivery of combat M1 Abrams to Poland so that the Ukrainian military could start the exercises sooner.
"We have accelerated the M1 Abrams delivery schedule to provide Ukraine with more armoured vehicles in the coming months. And the vehicles that the Ukrainians will use for training will arrive here in Germany over the next few weeks," Lloyd Austin.
In the next few weeks, 31 Abrams will arrive at the military in Poland. Within 10 weeks, Ukrainian tankers will be trained on this military equipment.
We remind you that initially, Washington planned to send the latest version of the Abrams, the M1A2, to Ukraine. However, production, delivery and training would take years, which we do not have.
This year, Ukraine received from the allies from 230 tanks, 1550 armoured vehicles, and tons of equipment to create from 9 armoured brigades.
