The Head of the German CDU Was Shocked by What He Saw in Irpin

Friedrich Merz did not wait for Scholz and flew to Kyiv to express his support for Ukraine

On May 3, the head of the Christian democratic union, formerly led by Angela Merkel, arrived in Ukraine. The purpose of the visit is to reaffirm Germany's support, meet with Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the prime minister of Ukraine, and visit Irpin.

First of all, Friedrich Merz went to Bucha and, for a long time, could not recover from the horrors that he saw there. The horrors that Russia left behind.

"I am completely shocked, these pictures do not go out of my head ... You have to see it with your own eyes in order to realize the whole tragedy of such attacks," Friedrich Merz.

It is important to note that those paintings that plunged Merz are already an improved version of what was revealed to the army of Ukraine, which liberated the city from the Russian army of rapists, pedophiles, and marauders. Now in every yard and on every street of the town, no dead Ukrainians are lying around. During a tour of a city devastated by Russian brutality and its horde, Merz said that "Ukraine defends all of Europe." And we agree with this.

Then Friedrich Merz returned to Kyiv for a meeting with the government of Ukraine. The presidential office did not release the meeting details, but the head of the CDU on Facebook thanked Zelenskyy for the conversation.

"Thank you very much, dear Volodymyr Zelensky, for the warm welcome and the exceptionally good atmosphere and content of the conversation. Germany supports Ukraine and its courageous people," Friedrich Merz.

According to PM of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, at a meeting with a German representative, they discussed the transfer of heavy weapons to Ukraine, the strengthening of sanctions to confront the Kremlin, and assistance to Ukrainian refugees and internally displaced persons.
