President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky had a telephone conversation with King Abdullah II of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
The Head of State of Ukraine assured King Abdullah II of his support for his endeavours to ensure the stability and security of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Abdullah II ibn Al-Hussein assured his solidarity with the Ukrainian positions on the situation in the east of the country, as well as his support on the way to peace.
Referring to the information from the website of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky and the King of Jordan have obtained mutual support in supporting the policies of states in the domestic and external arenas, and expressed their readiness to cooperate with each other and to continue developing relations between Ukraine and the Hashemite Kingdom.
The issue of the future of trade and economic activities, in particular food security, was raised. Vladimir Zelensky expressed Ukraine’s readiness to grant the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan special conditions for the supply of consumer products: "Ukraine is ready to ensure Jordan’s food security. We have already stated that we are ready to become a guarantor of global food security. We are ready to consider the possibility of using your country for the export of domestic goods to the countries of the region», — approved by the President of Ukraine.
The issue of COVID-19 was also discussed, as were the means to combat the pandemic and its consequences: “The complex phase of the coronavirus pandemic requires concerted efforts by all States of the world to overcome its consequences and resume trade and economic cooperation. Between Ukraine and Jordan — active dialogue and search for new forms of interaction», — noted the Head of the Ukrainian State.
King Abdullah II thanked Vladimir Zelensky for his congratulations on the beginning of holy Ramadan and added that he looked forward to meeting at the celebration of the 30 anniversary of Ukraine’s independence.
