The Last EU Tranche in 2022

On December 14, Ukraine received €500 million of macro-financial assistance

Ukraine's macro-financial aid program from the EU began to operate because of the Russian attack. So far, a transfer of €5 billion has been agreed upon, €2 billion of which should be transferred to 2022. This amount of financial assistance was divided into 3 payments. In the summer, Kyiv received the 1st tranche — part of the sum. Then, the organization assisted by providing amounts approved by representatives of the EU. The country has already received the last €500 million. According to the Ministry of finance press service and the official EU Twitter page, this was on December 14.

The government is using all the money to stabilize the country's economy. It is no secret that the war worsens many indicators and changes priorities. Therefore,  €500 million will be used to support the financial bulwark of Ukraine — the urgent expenses of the state budget.

The representative of Ukraine, minister of finance Serhii Marchenko, thanked the European Union countries for their support during the difficult period for the country.

"Since the beginning of the full-scale war, the European Union has provided €7.2 billion of macro-financial assistance to Ukraine. These funds helped to cope with the war's negative economic consequences and maintain the financial system's stability in the conditions of the full-scale invasion of the aggressor. I thank my colleagues from the EU for the consistent and systematic support of Ukraine," Marchenko said.
