The Netherlands has announced plans to expand cooperation with Ukraine in the defense and security sectors, including financing the production of modern weapons

This development was disclosed by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine following a meeting between Deputy Minister Serhii Boev and the Netherlands Defense Attaché, Colonel Johannes Hoppenreis.

Implementation of Security Agreement

During the meeting, both parties discussed the implementation of a security agreement signed in March 2024 by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Prime Minister Mark Rutte. Special attention was given to initiatives aimed at increasing the production of drones and other modern defense products.

Strategic Support and Joint Projects

Deputy Minister Serhii Boev emphasized the importance of strategic support from the Netherlands, highlighting several key areas:

  • Supply of Critical Weapons: Enhancing Ukraine's defense capabilities through essential armaments.
  • Financing the Ukrainian Defense Industry: Investing in domestic production to strengthen self-reliance.
  • Development of Joint Defense Projects: Collaborating on initiatives that benefit both nations.

"The strategic support from the Netherlands is crucial for us—not only in supplying critical weapons but also in financing our defense industry and developing joint projects," Boev stated.
