On April 18, a message appeared on the official page of the German government about the delivery of air defence to Ukraine. Previously, the Patriot anti-aircraft missile system was in service with only a few states, including the United States. A spokesman for the Ukrainian Air Force, Yuriy Ignat, said that the arrival of the Patriot system in the Ukrainian Armed Forces was an accident. Air defence will ensure even greater efficiency of the air brigades protecting the sky over Ukraine. Also, this system will help to create a safer environment for Ukrainians – shooting down aerial objects is possible even at long distances.
In addition, Spiegel reports that Ukraine received a German complex about Iris-T. In particular, Germany still wants to strengthen the Ukrainian army with the help of:
- 16 trucks;
- 2 cars for the border service;
- Missiles for the Patriot air defence system.
Remind that the first Ukrainian military (70 soldiers) have already been trained in the use of Patriot. The United States, the Netherlands, and Germany should provide Patriots for the confrontation with the Russian army.
