On the morning of February 23, prime minister of Spain Pedro Sanchez arrived in Kyiv. Minister Sanchez announced the purpose of his visit on Twitter. The minister's plans include Bucha and a meeting with president Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
"I returned to Kyiv a year after the start of the war. We will stand by Ukraine and its people until peace returns to Europe," said Pedro Sanchez.
In April 2022, PM Sanchez was already in Ukraine. Spain became the first country to announce that it is ready to transfer Leopard 2 to Ukraine.
On February 22, the prime minister of Italy Giorgia Meloni was in Kyiv.
