Today, the prime minister of the Netherlands, Mark Rutte, arrived in the capital of Ukraine. For 2022-23, this is the second visit of the minister. The minister and his team took a walk around the winter capital, looked at the destroyed Russian equipment, which stands conspicuously on Sophia square, and visited the memorial to those who died in this war.
Mark Rutte held talks with Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and according to the president, they were "meaningful and strong" talks. The parties discussed the defence of Ukraine against the intensification of Russian aggression and a possible repeated attack by Russia on February 24, the anniversary of the war against Ukraine.
"During the meeting, he welcomed the recent decision of The Hague to transfer the Patriot air defence system to us and the powerful contribution to the tank coalition. The Netherlands, together with its partners, Germany and Denmark, is preparing to hand over 100 Leopard tanks to Ukraine. This is a powerful help for Ukraine," Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Earlier, president Zelenskyy and minister Rutte met in Brussels.
