On February 18, another Hour of questions to the government of Ukraine took place, at which prime minister Denys Shmyhal came out to the people and journalists.
"Technically, we are almost 100% ready for Ukraine to join the European energy system in 2023. Our colleagues from the World Bank estimated the economic benefits of synchronization with ENTSO-E at $1.5 billion annually", Denys Shmyhal.
In a couple of days, Ukraine is testing the functioning of the Ukrainian energy system in isolation from the Belarusian and Russian energy systems.
"In addition, we will get 5more clear benefits: energy independence and security, transparency and demonopolization, export opportunities, decarbonization, renovation of outdated infrastructure and the development of new technologies, in particular energy storage," the prime minister added.
Denys Shmyhal noted that Ukraine's energy sector priorities are also its gas production and the introduction of a thermal modernization map.
