German federal president Frank-Walter Steinmeier arrived in Ukraine today. His visit was scheduled for October 20, but the arrival had to be postponed due to security reasons.
The president arrived early in the morning, and today he has a meeting with Volodymyr Zelenskyy on his schedule. This long-awaited visit is a strong diplomatic signal to every state, and especially to those who speculate on the topic of Steinmeier's cancelled arrival in the spring. The organization of this visit lasted for weeks.
Perhaps, during the meeting, the transfer of the Iris-T air defence systems to Ukraine from Germany will be discussed. Also, to help in protecting Ukraine, president Zelenskyy will open another plaque on the Alley of Courage in Kyiv — in honour of president Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
