Today, a friend of our country, prime minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte, arrived in Ukraine. Right now, the minister and his team are in the city of Irpin, where the delegation will be able to get acquainted with the whole palette of Russian atrocities against Ukrainians. Further, a meeting and a press conference with president of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy are planned.
Mayor of Irpin Olexandr Markushin personally led the guests through the city's streets and told how Dutch investments could be helpful for the restoration of the town.
"I gave him presentations of the destruction of our town and asked for his country's help in restoring the destroyed housing of the Irpin, our schools, and kindergartens. I also thanked Mr. Rutte for the significant support of Ukraine and Ukrainians," Olexandr Markushin.
Thanks to the assistance of Mark Rutte, Ukraine receives weapons and humanitarian aid from Holland and forced Ukrainian refugees can find shelter in the same state.
"The Netherlands in this respect (arming Ukraine — ed.) is noticeably ahead. This was confirmed again this week. There are not many heavy systems, but we do it because this is our war. If something goes wrong and we allow Putin to occupy Ukraine, what next? In fact, this is a direct threat to our security," Mark Rutte.
