On August 1, an Antares rocket was successfully launched from the Virginia spaceport to the International Space Station. The commercial launch for NASA was carried out by Northrop Grumman Corporation. On a board of the rocket is more than 8.200 pounds of equipment and materials for the US mission to the ISS. This is the 19th launch of the Antares rocket, most of which was designed and built in Ukraine. In the manufacture of the main array of the first stage of the carrier rocket and ground equipment by order of Northrop Grumman Corporation, the Yuzhnoye State Design Office (Dnipro city), Southern machine-building production union or Yuzhmash (Dnipro city), Kyivpribor (Kyiv), Khartron-Arkos (Kharkiv), Khartron-Yukom (Zaporozhye), Chesara Telemetry and Rapid (Chernihiv).
Ukrainian specialists who collaborated with Northrop Grumman in the construction of Antares also took part in real-time in the NG-19.
